Well, talked to Jason and he's in the process of assessing the damage on the server, and fixing what needs to be fixed before allow the server to go live again. I mean, no sense in making it live if there's stuff broken.
Here's what we know. Darknest's database (ie: forums) is all in contact, but the gallery is lost. I've been thinking of using this 'bad news' to look for something better programmed them Coppermine, which was a piece of shit gallery :P For those that go to OekakiCentral, seems that some of the database was corrupted, how much I don't know.
But for the most part, like I said, the forums are ok! So all posts are still there, and even though you can't look at the gallery you can still look at the artists' posts where they update their works.
When the server will be up I don't know, and I'm not going to pester Jason since these things will take time.

Awesome. The gallery was in need of a clean-up and a better system anyway.
Loss of the gallery's no big deal, it was getting a little overfilled and messy anyway. Think of it as draconian spring cleaning

i have a good portion of the galllery backed up. i helped restore it last time so no big deal. I will justfeel bad knowing my name will be on the submitted pictures.
I also suggest that we only have wow pictures in the gallery. We can organize them by tags, including races as well?
We should view the lost of the Gallery as a good thing. It will allow us to reorganize and retag. It's a glorious thing.

as a response to the person who said WOW images only. Please also include Lineage as well.
I regard this as a chance to purge everything out and get a fresh new start. Perhaps the story area should have some mini catagories unto itself....such as hero, f/f, m/m, etc . It would be really useful to give the stories a little more organization.
I think it is pity the Gallerie is completely extinguished. A few pictures there were really, REALLY well and Were also exciting of course. Which are away now. (Example: Whorelock ^^)
